Baby Shower cake
This is the first ever, 2 layer cake I have made on my very own!!! I think it turned out pretty amazing!!! I made this bear a week in advance so that it could dry and settle in place. I also made the baby blocks a week in advance so that they could dry and become hard and solid. The blocks were pretty difficult to put together and stay together. The top layer is sitting on the blocks however the blocks alone are not holding the weight of the top layer, there are sticks inside each block to bear the weight!. The couple did not know what they were having so I made the baby blanket both pink and blue. I think overall this cake impressed even me!!
Topsy Turvy Cake
I took a Topsy Turvy cake class awhile ago and this was the outcome. It was a 4 hour class and I was so worried we weren't going to be able to finish this cake! It wasn't as hard to make as I expected it to be, however I was really glad the instructor was there to save me a few times though!! Working with fondant really takes some practice but boy does it look good when you get it right!! For my first topsy turvy cake, I think it turned out quite well!!!
Cake Pop Order
Here was my first ever Cake Pop Order. She needed them to be very simple and
wanted just a chocolate theme. It was for her birthday so she wanted 31 cake
pops and the rest to be cake balls instead of on a stick to represent her age.
The cake pops are chocolate cake dipped in milk and white chocolate, drizzled in
dark, milk and white chocolate. I was really happy with how this batch turned
out.
Cake Pop Bouquets
Below are some cake pop bouquets I have made in the past. You can see that the more I do them the better I get and more creative!!! Cake pops are a lot of fun to make but are VERY time consuming. I love the cake pops with colored sprinkles. I think the contrast of the chocolate and colors looks really good. I think using the colored candy coating also really make the cake pops soo pretty and fun!! I used jelly beans to make flower cake pops.
Christmas 2010
This is a cake I made during a cake decorating class! The class was 4 hours long. I thought to myself, how am I going to make all of this in 4 hours!?? Well, I did and it worked out perfectly!!! We learned how to make these figurines, and now I feel like I have the skills to make others!! Aren't they cute!!?? They were actually quiet easy to make as well, I was very surprised!
We were having a huge Christmas party at worked so I decided I would make cake pops!!!! Below are my snowman and Christmas tree cake pops!!! The hats were made of Oreo cookies and half a large marshmellow dipped into chocolate! The christmas trees were very easy to make, I just shaped them and then dipped them!

Stuffed Cupcakes "3D Cupcakes"
I like to call these cupcakes 3D Cupcakes!!! Not only is it cake topped with icing, but they are also stuffed with cream, fruit filling or whatever else you want!!! These cupcakes I made for Christmas 2010, and they were gone within a matter of minutes of hitting the table. Below are chocolate cupcakes stuffed with Strawberry cream and topped with Strawberry buttercream. Also, vanilla cupcakes stuffed with blueberry cream and topped with blueberry buttercream!!!! So yummy!!! I am addicted to filling cupcakes. I will find anyway possible to turn a "regular" cupcake into a 3D stuffed cupcake. What should I put into my next batch?
Cake Pops!!!!
What do you do with left over cake and icing?? Make cake pops of course!!!! I decided to play with a bunch of ingredients I had laying around my kitchen.. yes I had a lot of random ingredients, but remember I bake quiet often.
What will I use to make my next cakepop??
Basic chocolate covered cake pop
Chocolate Smore cakepop
White chocolate Smore cakepop
Chocolate covered cakepop with white chocolate chips
Chocolate covered cake pop with chocolate chips, drizzled with chocolate
Chocolate covered cakepop with sprinkles
White chocolate covered cakepops with white chocolate chips

Retirement Cake
This was one of the first cakes I've ever made. I made this cake with Shashi, a co-worker of mine for our boss who was retiring! We were helping to throw her a huge party with about 70 guests. We made this out of chocolate and vanilla cake. I had made the stars a few days in advance so that the stars would harden on the wire. We used gold duting powder for some of the stars as well as the middle layer, we also used silver powered for the rest of the stars. I have to say this was a very simple looking cake, but we were pretty nervous about it. It was for about 70 people to look at, we haven't been making cakes for too long, and it was one of the first cakes we have made on our own. I have to say, it turned out well all things considered!
